2 Year Training Program
Year One…Year Two… Working in the Therapeutic Setting Clinicians often wish to go deeper with their patients, to explore dreams, unconscious fantasies, latent conflicts. Patients, too, often wish to explore themselves in more depth, to relieve symptoms, to feel emotionally free. This two-year sequence of training offers clinicians an opportunity to immerse themselves in the theory and practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, allowing them to work with patients more frequently and more intensively. Completion of the sequence will lead to a certificate of achievement. CLASSES INCLUDE: · Ego Psychology, Self-Psychology and Relational Theories · Therapeutic listening · Working with dreams · Assessment and formulation · Process and cure · Role of Development in Adult Psychotherapy · Case Conferences To earn a certificate, a participant must complete all of the course requirements as well as sixty hours of individual case consultation. A list of consultants is available upon request. Classes will meet from 12:30 to 3:45 on Fridays, three eight-week terms each year; individual case consultation is $75 per session. Tuition is $1000.00 per year. We are now accepting applications for the Fall 2010 class.. Though the two-year sequence is recommended, a clinician may take individual classes of interest on a space available basis. Cost is $200 per class, with case consultation elective. Classes begin in September of 2010 For information or enrollment, please contact: Virginia McDermott, PhD, 612-673-9988 | |
